Hi Everyone,
It is time for our weekly discussion and this week I would like your thoughts and input on RSD and Stress. Have you noticed when your stress is high your pain levels go up? There seems to be a definite link between stress and RSD symptoms. Have you noticed this I know I have. Our best bet is to avoid stress as much as possible. How do you avoid something that is ingrained in living day to day? This is the tough part! Noones life is stress free, but there are some ways I have found to lessen your day to day stress. Deep breathing in through the nose and slowly out through your mouth can help a little.Try this while visualizing a place you like to relax. Do this about ten to fifteen times while keeping your eyes closed. Take a walk even if you can't go far do what you can and I usually feel bettere afterwards. Do a hobby, read a book,or anything that will get your mind off what ever is stressing you out. Occupying your mind helps relieve stress. If you have a pet take a few minutes to pet or care for your pet . This will help calm you down.Bubble bath, candles, crossword puzzle anything that will soothe your nerves. We may be stuck with the effects of RSD, but how you live your life is purely a personal decision. Try to live in the moment as much as possible. That is all any of us can do! If you would like to add your own ideas of how you handle stress just add them to this post. I would love to hear them.
Robyn I love you

Hi I'm Sarah. I'm 18 and I've had RSD in both legs for 6 months. Yes I know what you mean about stress and pain though! I've just set a goal for myself to meditate 4x/week and to try biofeedback.

Hi Sarah,
It is great to meet you! I hope the meditation and biofeedback work great for you and I am glad to say that meditating has gotten me through some really rough spots. I would reccomend it to anybody. Oh and glad to see you on the boards.
Best Wishes,
Robyn I love you
