I have been reading alot of stories on your message board, and everyone is going thru the same things. I guess my story wouldn't be any different than anyone elses. It's about 10:30 PM and I have to be at the hospital in the morning for my 2nd of 3 nerve blocks, But when I had my 1st last week my neck is still sore and puffy. When I swallow it's still is sore on my left side. Is that normal? Should it still be sore after a week? The last time I had these blocks I wasn't sore like this. Anyway, it seems as though in the last few months I've been getting worse. I have had this now for about 6 years in my neck, shoulder, arm and across my back. I'm just getting really tired of it all. I know you all know exactly what I mean. Just thought I would drop a line since I've been reading all yours. Thanks for listening, patty

Hi Patty,
It is great to have you here and welcome! I hope your block goes well today. I would mention that soreness to your doctor who is doing the blocks and see what he/she thinks about it. I do know what you mean when you say you are tired of it all. It can get really old all the procedures, hospital trips, doctors, etc., can't blame you for feeling that way after 6 years, god you are only human. You are bound to get frustrated after awhile. That's what we are here for the good and the bad. I am glad you posted to vent a little. It really does seem to help even if only a little. I know that there are many times that I feel if I see one more white coat coming my way I am going to lose it lol, but I figure after almost five years it is understandable. Well good luck today and rest up afterwards and hopefully that will help take the swelling and pain levels down a bit.
Love,
Robyn

Hi Patty and welcome.
I've had 4 SGB's and the only time my throat stayed sore for a few days is
when I talked during the procedure. That was my fault. All the other ones
the sore throat is gone by the next morning along with the droopy eye, etc.
As for "normal", there is no such thing with RSD as you know by now. I would
still tell your dr.
Mine also started in my rt hand and spread up the arm to my shoulder within
a years time. I'm now at stage 3 and no PT will touch me. They say there is
no use. Nice, huh.
Good luck on this block and I hope you don't have any more problems. I am
surprised they are giving you blocks after this many years. But each dr is
different too.
Hope everyone is having a low pain day,
Trudy
