Hi. My name is Christy. I'm a 29 year old mother of two.On Aug.11,2004
I woke up with pain and swelling in my left knee. A week later my left
foot was three times its normal size. I was diagnosed in just a week and
a half after onset. You'd think I'd be cured that fast after diagnosis,
nope. Sympathetic blocks didn't work and neither did radio frequency.
I was told Monday by my neurologist and pain management that they
couldn't help me. Now I'm at a loss as for what to do, and more
disappointed than ever. I'm sick to death of all the medication I'm
on. It seems to get worse everyday. I love this web site and the chance to
get to talk to others like me. I've e-mailed support groups to try to find
someone to talk to and noone has mailed me back. I find that very depressing. Thanks for the chance to become a member.

Hi Christy,
I am so sorry that you have to go through all this. It must be really frustrating for you. If you ever need someone to talk to I am here for you. I would keep searching for a different doc that can help. Please don't give up. Check under our RSD docs maybe one of them is in your area if not still keep looking. You need a doctor that isn't going to give up on helping you. Hang in there the best you can and I hope things start to get better for you real soon.
Love,
Robyn

Hi Christy
I'm glenda and have rsd for 13 yrs due to a neck and shoulder injury at work .My doc also caught it early thank the lord the blocks helped and he treated very aggresively .I'm just now at the point in the last 2 yrs the blocks are not working like they should and I have become very drug sensitive .
Where do ya live? We might have someone here near you and could help you find a good doc. I've been so fortunate to have the same doc for 13 yrs hes one of the best here in Colorado. So feel free to jump in ask questions ,comment or just vent this is a very understanding group and by the way WELCOME To The Group

Thanks for the welcome. I live in Dothan,AL. about 2 hours from
Montgomery. It's a great little town, its just the docs are ignorant
when it comes to RSD. They all have heard of it they just don't know
how to treat it. Its been really hard for me to deal with 'cause I was so
active and now I can't stand up long enough to cook my kids a meal.
My mom and husband are really great but I know it takes a toll on them.
Thanks

Hi Christy,
I was real active before I got RSD too. It does stink when your mind wants things and your body says you have actually lost your mind I can't do that now. It is hard and does take a toll on all involved. Just do what you are still able to and I am sure your family understands you are trying. Alot of days it is an olympic event to get dressed or wash my hair and it makes me feel bad too. Hang in there just keep on trying and you are doing fine.
Love,
Robyn
