Hi Everyone,
It is real easy to write to your senator when you click on the link it takes you right to the page which is all set up for you. It is simple to fill out and has a standard message but they ask you to personalize the message so I used what they had and added a little to it. You could do the same or erase what they have totally and write your own letter or just use what they have without adding anything to it. The important thing is to send the letter in because the more people who write the more chances we have to move them into passing it through the senate. It has made it this far and it just has a little way to go so please consider helping since this is so important to all people in chronic pain. I sent letters to both Arlen Specter and Bob Casey.
Thanks Robyn

Senator Arlen Specter
Constitution Avenue and 2nd Street, NE
Washington, DC 20510-3802

Dear Senator Specter,

As a resident of your state, I am writing to request that you
CO-SPONSOR the NATIONAL PAIN CARE POLICY ACT of 2009, S.660. It is
critical to the constituents of our state that you show support for
federal pain policy reform through support for S.660.

According to the National Institutes of Health, pain is the most common
reason Americans access the health care system (over 76.5 million
Americans suffer from pain, both chronic and acute). It also drives up
health care costs, estimated at $100 billion annually in health care
expenses, lost income, and lost productivity. It is critical that this
issue gets the national attention it requires. The National Pain Care
Policy Act addresses the tremendous barriers to proper pain care by
improving coordination of pain research, supporting healthcare
practitioner education & training, and creating a national public
awareness campaign. Please consider what it is like to live every day in
pain without relief. Crying yourself to sleep at night because of not
having adequate medication. I currently am suffering with a painful
debilitating chronic pain illness many people haven't even heard of and
most still do not yet understand. RSD or Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy
is rated more painful than cancer on the Mcgill pain chart that is used
for measuring pain levels. It is a rough life yet knowing things like
the pain care act are being considered before the senate give me hope
of a brighter future for myself and all people in chronic pain. I have
been a chronic pain patient for eight years dealing with RSD in my life
and I hope you will give this real consideration and give a disabled
woman who strives for quality of life a chance to live it.
Thank you so much for your consideration of this matter,
Robyn King
870 Simons Avenue
Bensalem PA. 19020

I urge you to co-sponsor this bill, as it addresses key issues that
affect my family, my community, 76.5 million Americans and me. To see
the broad-based support for this bill from the patient and professional
pain management community and other stakeholders who are committed to
improving pain management, please go to www.painfoundation.org and

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Robyn King
