Hi everyone, This week I thought it would be helpful to talk about our hobbies and RSD. I have always had a variety of hobbies,RSD might limit my choices sometimes, but I don't let this stop me and neither should anyone with chronic pain or illness. Hobbies are beneficial for many reasons. Keeping your mind occupied helps pain levels some, the reward of making or doing something I love relieves some of my depression as well. My favorite hobbies now are: reading, learning animation, Photo shop pro, and flash and surfing the net.I also enjoy crosstitch, creating patterns for crosstitch, cooking, baking, gardening(my son does all the digging and planting but I water it everyday).I still take pictures and draw when my hands are having a good day. I work around the RSD and at times I still get real frustrated and mad when I can't do some activities I used to love. I try not to dwell on what I can't do and look at what I still can. Writing is another hobby I love can you tell?LOL Anyhow, just because RSD has entered my life doesn't mean I am willing to take it lying down unless I have a good book to read.I would love love to hear about your hobbies and what you still love to do to help keep your mind off the pain.Just add your thoughts or experiences to this post.
